Lets say you organized a tournament in NSW, and the tournament was cancelled, but one of your players from Perth had already booked and paid for his flights and accomodation.
Would you give him/her a free entry if the tournament was on the next year?
Or would you just make out that it is all their fault and not worry about it?

Re: What would be a fair?i would want to see when you booked the flight if it was ages before tournament tuff luck
Re: What would be a fair?Already happened to me
Re: What would be a fair? You would have to look at all the facts. Was an entry form published? Did anyone say in writing that the tournament would definitely be on? How much notice did they give for the cancellation? etc...
Re: What would be a fair?At the end of the day, if a player had travelled all the way across the Country to play in my tournament, and it was canned, I would 100% give the guy a free entry if the event was on the next year.
I would simply give the free entry because I am a nice guy. I had some similar issues with Kings last year, and instead of trying to pass it off as my fault, they did absolutely everything to make me feel welcome. This is what people who know how to run tournaments do.
Re: What would be a fair?Ok, well if you come to the West Coast this year, we will make you feel welcome, apparently that's all it takes
Re: What would be a fair?
Why would they try to pass it off as your fault anyway? You sent off an entry, rang them to confirm they had received it, and they didn't write it on the list they provided to do the draw. That sounds like a slightly different situation to me!
